See the abbey in different light This is Somerset --

A NIGHT of lights and music is coming to Glastonbury Abbey for the fourth time on Friday, September 13.

The historic ruins will be illuminated in different coloured lights as music plays across the grounds.

The annual night of lights, music and entertainment will take place from 6pm to 10pm.

James Stone, the abbey's event co-ordinator, said: "It's a fantastic way to round off a wonderful summer.

"The abbey ruins are beautiful bathed in sunshine but when they are lit up purple, gold, orange and green it really adds a different perspective."

Among the performers this year will be Circulus, Wonderlust, Minor Works Unit, Nick Parker, Steve Henderson, Hilary Davies, John Dalton, Sam Wellbourne, the Hildegard Ensemble, Children's World, The Bards of Glastonbury and Langport Mummers.

There will be a bar and refreshments on the night with tickets costing £3 adults and £2 children on sale from the abbey shop or online at www.glastonburyabbey.com. Reported by This is 30 minutes ago.
