A CAR was completely destroyed today in a fire at Glastonbury Road, Meare. Fire crews were called to the vehicle fire at 12.04pm and when they arrived found the Volkswagen convertible well alight. One fire appliance from Glastonbury and one fire appliance from Street attended and crews used two breathing apparatus, one compressed air foam jet, one primer jet and one hose reel to deal with the incident. The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
